Lead Candidate

Tahlia Kelso

Tahlia Kelso is a proud South-Asian woman who was raised by single mother in the suburbs of Wallsend, Mayfield, Jesmond, and Tighes Hill. Her family's strong commitment to disability advocacy has instilled in her the importance of inclusive communities and fairness.

Currently, she is leading the city campus library team at the University of Newcastle, where she has been working for almost a decade.

She is eager to represent the communities of Ward 4 and ensure that the western suburbs receive the attention and resources they deserve.

Julie Davies

Julie Davies is a long term resident of the Beresfield/ Tarro area. As a recently retired mental health nurse she understands the importance of supporting the community.

Wayne Rogers

Wayne Rogers is an accomplished entertainer and business owner with strong ties to the Wallsend and broader Newcastle community.

Priorities for Ward 4

Minmi Road Prioritisation

We believe the duplication and widening of Minmi Road has been delayed and re-announced for too long by the Nelmes' led council. Getting this work done will be a top priority in Ward 4.

Supporting Cost of Living

We will focus on halting excessive rate rises to limit this financial burden on those struggling with the cost of living.

Listening to the Community

We believe that community consultation should be at the heart of local government and that solutions should be led from the ground up.

Focusing on the Basics

We will focus on reducing glamour projects in the inner city and prioritising essential services like roads and footpaths in all areas of Newcastle including Ward 4.
