WORKING AT BHP

When I left school, like most of my mates, I worked as a labourer at BHP.  Many years later, as BHP was closing, I wrote a piece reminiscing about it that was published in the Newcastle Herald. It’s a good story.

A few years after writing this piece, I bumped into Harry again when he was a patient in John Hunter Hospital, late in his life.  It was great to introduce myself. Meeting so many different patients is what I’ve always loved about being a Doctor in a big public hospital.
